Enjoy the scenic views of Rocky Mountain National Park and the Arapahoe National Forest at the Grand Lake Nordic Center. We offer the beginner to advanced skier a variety of terrain on 35 km of classic and skate skiing trails.

The terrain and trails are also excellent for snowshoeing, and we have a dedicated dog loop and kid’s tubing hill! The GLMRD Nordic Center is a full-service, outdoor winter destination featuring our ski and snowshoe rentals, lessons, a retail shop, and a winter soup kitchen at the Lodge. Don’t Forget: FREE Kids Program ~ Grand County Kids Ski Free on Fridays (excluding Holidays)!

On The Trail Rentals is located 3 miles northwest of the town of Grand Lake, CO. Ride Snowmobiles and ATVs right from our location into the Arapahoe National Forest. The North Supply Kiosk (Part of the Stillwater OHV Trail System) is located outside our gate.

  • No trailers are needed – leave from our site
  • All Snowmobile Rentals include suits, boots, helmets, map and 1 tank of fuel
  • Discounts are available for: Groups, multiday, and weekday rentals

The scenic trails of Rocky Mountain National Park filled with mountain flowers, scampering wildlife and gentle flowing streams await you!  One or two hours rides along the Colorado River are available and are scheduled eight times daily.   $45 for 1 hour, $65 for 2 hour rides

1 hour rides depart @ 8:30, 10:30, 1:30 & 3:30 – 2 hour rides depart @ 8:00, 10:00, 1:00 & 3:00.

Directions From Grand Lake Village: Turn left and travel 1.5 miles North on Hwy 34. Then turn left (across from the Kawuneeche Visitor Center). 1.5 miles on CR 491 to Winding River Resort.

Now encompassing more than 265,000 acres in northern Colorado, Rocky Mountain National Park remains home to some of the most spectacular scenery on Earth. From wooded forests, to alpine tundra these majestic mountains provide habitat to more than 60 species of mammals, including elk, bighorn sheep, black bears, moose, mountain lions, bobcat and mule deer. More than 280 species of birds visit or reside in the park as well, including such varied species as white-tailed ptarmigans, Clark’s nutcrackers, Steller’s jays, water ouzels, golden eagles and prairie falcons.

Rocky Mountain National Park is also a hiker’s paradise for adventurous types seeking wilderness and solitude. The park offers more than 350 miles of trails that lead to some of the most spectacular scenery on the planet. Rocky Mountain also has 147 lakes, roughly 450 miles of streams, and several small glaciers and permanent snowfields.
